Experience the Spanish Cuisine
Hispanic culture is hollow without their food vibrance. They know how to smack those taste buds and address the appetite. Food is a part of their every celebration and when you plan to blend in with their demographics, you better get your taste buds warmed up.
In fact, Spain is one of the sweet spots for ‘Food Tourism’ – A type of tourism activity where one travels just to experience food. Now, it may overwhelm you when you see the number of food options to try in Spain, as a lot of them are some of the Best Street Food Items in Europe ! Let me help you out and suggest you the must try ones.
You haven’t had a Spanish appetizer if you haven’t tasted a Spanish Tortilla. This is one of the worldwide famous dishes of Spain which is you might have heard of at least if you haven’t tasted it yet.
Traditionally made with the mix of Eggs and Potatoes, this could get your belly ready for a full-fledged meal. Though preferred in Spain as an appetizer for lunch, this is available throughout the clock to order.
If France has French Fries, Spain has Churros! Served as breakfast, snack or desert throughout Spain in cafes, restaurants and food trucks.
If you are curious about its composition; it is cylindrical in shape with lined embossed surface, rolled coated in cinnamon and sugar served with chocolate syrup as dipping.
Now, I can keep on and on about the various cuisine options but let’s just keep that for another day and jump to the next experience.
Enjoy a Live Flamenco Performance
A popular dance form of Spain, that is recognised by UNESCO as a Heritage of Humanity. To be honest, it is not entirely just a dance, rather, Flamenco is an amalgamation of Dancing, Singing, Clapping, Encoring, Finger Snapping etc. It is like a high-school musical on a grandeur level.
Who doesn’t like that? We all groove and nod our heads to the rhythms. We all sing, we all dance.
Flamenco is such a dance form in Spanish which one must experience. You don’t want to miss out on something that’ll be a treat not only to your eyes, but also to your soul.
Go Crazy at the La Tomatina Festival in Bunol
Do you love the festival of Holi in India? Well, La Tomatina is the Holi of Spain. Don’t take it literally as the reasons of celebration aren’t the same. Though both may seem inspired by each other, both have entirely different stories.
La Tomatina first came into existence in 1945 through a rather very funny incident. Some young boys planned to get a place in the retinue of a parade during some festivals there, the energy led to the fall of one of the boys. He got angry and started hitting all on his way. Among all the chaos raised during that incident, a vegetable stall fell victim of the chaotic clash, people started throwing tomatoes at each other and since then it became a tradition and every year it is celebrated during the last Wednesday of August in Bunol, a village near Valencia, Spain where tons of tomatoes are unloaded by trucks on the streets and almost 20,000+ people gather there just to enjoy and experience the intense tomatoes grenade shower and attack. Those intense hours is one hell of a great experience to be added to your bucket list.
Go for a Hike or a Trek at the Picos De Europa
What good a trip to Spain with no hiking experience on the cards?
That too when you have Europe’s Peaks aka Picos De Europa referring to a number of mountain Peaks nearing the range of 200-2600m inside the Asturias national park, as your playground !
Visit the Alhambra in Granada
A monument like no other. There is a reason why it is one of the most visited monuments in the world. And adding this attraction to your Spain bucket list is literally a No-Brainer.
Built in 889 A.D by the Romans, those walls and echoes inside the structure have a lot to say. It was a forgotten land until Irvin Washington mentioned it in his book – Tales of the Alhambra. The monument was then renovated and brought back to life and since then it started getting added to people’s ‘Must Visit Places Bucket List’.
Enjoy the Beach Life at the Beaches of Costa Brava
Who doesn’t like swimming? Aquatic Life, The Landscape, the blueish water and shining stones under a good weather.
Cost Brava has a lot of beaches, and is also home to some of the best Gay Beaches near Barcelona. If some are good for a good social enjoyment then others are isolated and good for some peaceful ME time.
The beaches are surrounded with a bunch of mini villages and small cities. The arial view itself takes the breath away. This experience and place both deserves a space in your bucket list.
Limite Zero: Zipline
Another movie landscapes and experience you would have always wished to experience. I would say Zip-Line is the next best thing invented after planes. Not that they have the same purpose! But the feeling of slow movement sandwiched in between mountain terrains on a cable levitating box? There isn’t an argument here but a fact. One must definitely experience the Limite Zero Zipline, if Spain is a country on your Europe Travel bucket list.
Sky Diving at Empuriabrava
Afraid of heights or thrilled by it? Either way, you are in for a great experience. Skydiving in Empuriabrava is unique, it is among the top 3 Sky Diving facilities in the world. Unlike many other bland spots for sky diving here you get a wonderful view of the Pyrenees Mountain and the Mediterranean cost. So, if you are visiting Spain, make sure you don’t miss this wonderful experience.
Traverse the King’s Little Pathway
If the adrenaline dose wasn’t enough after the Skydiving at Empuriabrava, take a walk at the El Caminito Del Rey also known as The King’s Little Pathway.
It is a very narrow pathway circumferencing a mountain, built in 1901 to provide better access to the hydro-electric plants at the waterfalls nearby. It is considered to be one of the most dangerous pathways in the world. While many wouldn’t dare to walk on it, I believe it can be a very thrilling experience to have. And yes, you could be one among very few people who dared to do so.
Witness a football match at Camp Nou Stadium
Are you a football fan? or let me put it this way, are you a sports fan? Any Sports? Then this stadium will give you the right dose of Endorphins and Dopamine.
The sportsmanship spirit, the cheering of crowd, the live match experience, all packed into one experience, ahh, you don’t want to miss it. Or forget all that, just alone for the trophy room, your visit would be worth it. I can speak more on it but aren’t you tired of the spoilers enough?
Go experience the thrill for yourself !
Attend the Spanish Opera
Are you a music fan? Who am I kidding? who is not. We all love music and an opportunity to experience a Spanish Opera is not something that everyone gets.
You might have seen the Opera performances in movies or commercials. Though it is not on everyone’s Spotify, it has the capacity to life eyebrows when witnessed. This is a must have experience for every Spain Lover who is artistically pleased.
Witness the Bullfight and Bull Run at Pamplona
A Cowboy fan?, who is not? !
If you have enjoyed those wild-wild west movies, this is definitely your place and if you haven’t, I bet you will fall in love with the thrill.
In Spain during along the months of April till September in all major cities of Spain, this event takes place. It is held mostly on Sundays but on occasions you will see this everyday of the week in either of the cities.
But, if you are up for the best of it, look no further; just head on to Pamplona Running of the Bulls at San Farman in July.
Here’s everything you need to know before Visiting Pampolona.
Admire the Art at Museum Picasso in Barcelona

Clubbing in Ibiza
If you are a party animal, you must be a part of Ibiza’s clubbing scenes. Ibiza is known for parties and if US says Las Vegas and Los Angeles for Parties, then Spain Screams “IBIZA,IBIZA”.
Now there is no particular club I am talking about here, given the fact most areas of the IBIZA is designed to celebrate. You can find a zillion clubs in there and each has its own flavour and style to it.
