Experience the Spanish Cuisine

Hispanic culture is hollow without their food vibrance. They know how to smack those taste buds and address the appetite. Food is a part of their every celebration and when you plan to blend in with their demographics, you better get your taste buds warmed up.

In fact, Spain is one of the sweet spots for ‘Food Tourism’ – A type of tourism activity where one travels just to experience food. Now, it may overwhelm you when you see the number of food options to try in Spain, as a lot of them are some of the Best Street Food Items in Europe ! Let me help you out and suggest you the must try ones.

Tortilla Espanola

You haven’t had a Spanish appetizer if you haven’t tasted a Spanish Tortilla. This is one of the worldwide famous dishes of Spain which is you might have heard of at least if you haven’t tasted it yet.

Traditionally made with the mix of Eggs and Potatoes, this could get your belly ready for a full-fledged meal. Though preferred in Spain as an appetizer for lunch, this is available throughout the clock to order.

Churros

If France has French Fries, Spain has Churros! Served as breakfast, snack or desert throughout Spain in cafes, restaurants and food trucks.

If you are curious about its composition; it is cylindrical in shape with lined embossed surface, rolled coated in cinnamon and sugar served with chocolate syrup as dipping.

Now, I can keep on and on about the various cuisine options but let’s just keep that for another day and jump to the next experience.

Enjoy a Live Flamenco Performance

Photo by Stéphan Valentin on Unsplash

A popular dance form of Spain, that is recognised by UNESCO as a Heritage of Humanity. To be honest, it is not entirely just a dance, rather, Flamenco is an amalgamation of Dancing, Singing, Clapping, Encoring, Finger Snapping etc. It is like a high-school musical on a grandeur level.

Who doesn’t like that? We all groove and nod our heads to the rhythms. We all sing, we all dance.

Flamenco is such a dance form in Spanish which one must experience. You don’t want to miss out on something that’ll be a treat not only to your eyes, but also to your soul.

Go Crazy at the La Tomatina Festival in Bunol

Do you love the festival of Holi in India? Well, La Tomatina is the Holi of Spain. Don’t take it literally as the reasons of celebration aren’t the same. Though both may seem inspired by each other, both have entirely different stories.

La Tomatina first came into existence in 1945 through a rather very funny incident. Some young boys planned to get a place in the retinue of a parade during some festivals there, the energy led to the fall of one of the boys. He got angry and started hitting all on his way. Among all the chaos raised during that incident, a vegetable stall fell victim of the chaotic clash, people started throwing tomatoes at each other and since then it became a tradition and every year it  is celebrated during the last Wednesday of August in Bunol, a village near Valencia, Spain where tons of tomatoes are unloaded by trucks on the streets and almost 20,000+ people gather there just to enjoy and experience the intense tomatoes grenade shower and attack. Those intense hours is one hell of a great experience to be added to your bucket list.

A monument like no other. There is a reason why it is one of the most visited monuments in the world. And adding this attraction to your Spain bucket list is literally a No-Brainer.

Built in 889 A.D by the Romans, those walls and echoes inside the structure have a lot to say. It was a forgotten land until Irvin Washington mentioned it in his book – Tales of the Alhambra. The monument was then renovated and brought back to life and since then it started getting added to people’s ‘Must Visit Places Bucket List’.

Another movie landscapes and experience you would have always wished to experience. I would say Zip-Line is the next best thing invented after planes. Not that they have the same purpose! One must definitely experience the Limite Zero Zipline, if Spain is a country on your Europe Travel bucket list.

If the adrenaline dose wasn’t enough after the Skydiving at Empuriabrava, take a walk at the El Caminito Del Rey also known as The King’s Little Pathway.

It is a very narrow pathway circumferencing a mountain, built in 1901 to provide better access to the hydro-electric plants at the waterfalls nearby. It is considered to be one of the most dangerous pathways in the world. While many wouldn’t dare to walk on it, I believe it can be a very thrilling experience to have. And yes, you could be one among very few people who dared to do so.
